Mario Nicodemi is Full Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Naples Federico II and Einstein BIH Visiting Professor at the MDC in Berlin. He worked at ESPCI in Paris, Imperial College London, and at the UK Complexity Science Centre in Warwick. In Italy, he coordinates the INFN Biological Physics national project (IS). He also serves in international research and science management institutions, including the NIH 4D Nucleome consortium in the US and the ANR of the French Ministry of Research. His research activities have focused on Statistical Physics of Complex Systems and applications to Molecular Biology. In particular, he investigated off-equilibrium and critical phenomena in physics and, more recently, the three-dimensional architecture of the eukaryotic genome and its connections with the regulation of genes, by combining techniques of polymer physics and molecular biology.
