The Molecular Cancer Research Center (MKFZ) and the Medical Department, Division of Hematology, Oncology and Tumor Immunology of the Charité organize the international conference “Making walls history: Overcoming treatment barriers in Cancer". The meeting is chaired by Prof. Dr. Clemens A. Schmitt and Dr. Soyoung Lee.

The topic is dedicated to one of the most demanding problems in cancer research: simple mutation/ inhibitor strategies following the idea of “targeted therapies” often do not work as well as expected and novel strategies taking into account the complexity of cancer are urgently needed - strategies having the potential to “Overcome treatment barriers in Cancer” that are hopefully available for clinical application in the near future. In order to present and discuss these novel strategies, internationally renowned experts in cancer research (the program can be found here) are coming together in Berlin.

Symposium for young scientists, June 7

For the first time, the conference is accompanied by a satellite symposium for young scientists in cancer research on June 7, aiming to bring aspiring PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from the broad cancer research field together and to create an inspiring platform for project discussions.

The registration fee is 190 € for academics and 95 € for students.
