+++ Canceled: We regret that due to the current situation regarding the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) we are forced to cancel the 1st BIH Multi Omics Symposium on May 15, 2020. +++

The BIH Research Platform Multiscale Omics is happy to announce the 1st BIH Omics Symposium on May 15, 2020, titled "From Omics Profiling to an Understanding of Health and Disease".

Over the last years, omics technologies have become a cornerstone of molecular biology and biomedical research. High-throughput technologies in conjunction with bioinformatics methods enable the large-scale analysis of genes (Genomics), proteins (Proteomics), and metabolites (Metabolomics), as well as their interactions and association with phenotypic characteristics. In the field of translational health research, the analysis of clinical samples with omics technologies could not only contribute to a better understanding of pathological mechanisms but could also be used for the individual diagnosis and treatment of patients.

At the BIH Multi Omics symposium, we want to bring together local researchers and clinicians and leading international experts to discuss obstacles and opportunities in the application of omics technologies in translational research and personalized medicine. How can multi omics help to study disease causation and progression? How can patients benefit from pioneering omics technologies? And what are the requirements for a successful implementation of omics approaches in clinical workflows?

Keynote Speakers:

  • Jeffrey Beekman (Regenerative Medicine Utrecht, NL)
  • Tamar Geiger (Tel Aviv University, IL)
  • Michael Taylor (The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, CA)
  • Thierry Voet (KU Leuven, BE)

There will also be a session on the BIH Omics Core Facilities and a session of selected flash talks by members of the BIH Research Platform Multiscale Omics.

We hope to see you there!
