When researchers work in the academic world, they are concerned in making discoveries and understanding mechanisms for which they are perfectly prepared and educated. In trying to translate their projects into an application, they enter the World of Business with specific products and act as entrepreneurs. Sven Ripsas will give us a high level Pitch on Entrepreneurship and what mind- and skillset is required to do this. Katja Hanack has taken this step herself and will give us a talk on her experiences: The generation of monoclonal and recombinant antibodies represents a very applied scientific approach and leads to a broad spectrum of technological developments. To translate the basic research into exploitable technologies was and still is part of our work. In order to do so, we have combined our R&D activities with a Spin-off for commercial use. Specifically, we are working on artificial immune responses for a customized and target-oriented generation and validation of monoclonal and recombinant antibody molecules.
