About the Event

On this occasion early and intermediate career female scientists get the opportunity to come into contact with a distinguished female researcher. During this open, informal talk, questions concerning career planning, networking, negotiation procedures and participation in academic committees can be discussed. Prof. Ana Pombo will be our guest and will share insights into her career path.

About Ana Pombo

Ana Pombo started her group at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre in London in 2000, working on gene expression and genome architecture. In 2007, she was awarded the Robert Feulgen Prize for her contributions to imaging nuclear architecture. Her laboratory moved to Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology at MDC, Berlin, in 2013. She is also Professor of Biology at Humboldt University. Her laboratory is interested in understanding mechanisms of gene priming and activation in ES and differentiated cells, and how the three-dimensional folding of chromatin in uences gene expression in development and disease.
