Teams for study management and performance

Study visits are performed at the Charité sites Campus Benjamin Franklin (CBF) and Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK), the BeLOVE Unit at Campus Benjamin Franklin (CBF) serving as the main study site.

Examination rooms and labs with high-end equipment offer the especially trained study personnel the opportunity to perform the BeLOVE cohort study at the highest standard.
In order to guarantee the strategic and scientific decisions decided within the BeLOVE and BIH committees, a project-related organisational unit, the BeLOVE Office, was established, which is part of the BIH business devision strategic science management. The operational implementation of BeLOVE takes place at the BeLOVE Unit at the Charité site Campus Benjamin Franklin. The BeLOVE Unit is a financed personnel and space structure that was established by the committees for the implementation of the study and is accountable for it. This organizational structure ensures a high level of continuity and close cooperation with the clinical departments and infrastructures of the BIH office, the Charité and all other project partners.

The scientific leadership of the BeLOVE study is comprised of the BeLOVE Scientific Board (scientific input) and the BeLOVE Executive Board (scientific and strategic decisions), coordinating the study content. In extension of these boards, the BeLOVE Office is responsible for study implementation with regard to contents concerning the various aspects of running a cohort study.

The performance of study visits, data management as well as the biostatistical expertise are embedded in the project structure of BeLOVE at the BIH. The implementation of data management is achieved in close content driven collaboration with the Clinical Trial Office (CTO) of the Clinical Study Center (CSC) and the guarantee of high biostatistical expertise by close interaction with the Institute of Biometry and Clinical Epidemiology (iBikE).
