Participatory research design in the RESPoNsE research practice network: the Patient Advisory Board

Since the beginning of 2022, a new advisory board has been helping to bring the perspective of lay patients into general medical research in the RESPoNsE research practice network and to shape it in a participatory manner.

The Autism Research Cooperation

The Autism Research Cooperation (AFK – Autismus-Forschungs-Kooperation) is an association of autistic people and autism scientists, mainly from the Humboldt University of Berlin. The aim is to research questions jointly that are relevant for adult autistic people. In the long term, the research results should contribute to improving the quality of life of people on the autism spectrum.

The project "women 5.0"

The project "women 5.0 – Regional Care for Women over 49 by Outpatient Gynaecologists and General Practitioners" ("Frauen 5.0") of the Institute of General Practice at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin assessed the regional situation of health care services for women aged 50 and older in three federal states in north-eastern Germany from 2017 to the beginning of 2020.

Participatory research in the neighbourhood

At the Institute for Health and Nursing Science, Nils Merten investigated the significance of neighbourhood characteristics for health in his bachelor thesis. The focus was on the "Central Kreuzberg" neighbourhood, with the Kottbusser Tor at its centre.

The OPEN Project

In the OPEN project (Outcomes of Patients' Evidence with Novel, Do-it-Yourself Artificial Pancreas Technology), Charité has joined other academic and non-academic international partners in an interdisciplinary consortium to investigate aspects of the use of open-source artificial pancreas systems.
