After more than 3.5 years, we were able to host the Clinician Scientist Retreat again this year - the entire BIH Charité Clinician Scientist Community came together for two days at Schloss Fleesensee. The goal of the retreat was to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin with program participants, mentors, clinic directors, members of the (Digital) Clinician Scientist Board and invited guests, to exchange scientific & strategic issues and to network. The program of the retreat was composed of scientific lecture sessions, strategy and information sessions and workshops. A highlight of the program was the fireside chat with Prof. Dr. Martin Kreis, Chief Medical Officer, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Prof. Dr. Christopher Baum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIH at Charité and Board Member of the Translational Research Unit of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, gave insights into the current strategy of BIH in his talk. In addition, a special highlight was the keynote address by Prof. Dr. Detlev Ganten, former Chairman of the Board of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Founding Director of the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) and Founding President of the World Health Summit and Founding Chairman of the Virchow Foundation for Global Health.
