She sheds light on market movements

Dorothea Kübler’s expertise in the field of experimental economic research is much sought after internationally. She is director of the Department of Market Behavior at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, professor of economics at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), member of the Board of Academic Advisors of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, vice chair of the Einstein Foundation Berlin and senior member of various international professional associations.

At the beginning of her career, she studied economics and philosophy in Philadelphia and Berlin and law in Konstanz. After completing graduate studies in applied microeconomics at Freie Universität Berlin, she worked as a research associate at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she received her doctorate in 1997 and qualified as a professor in 2003. A year later she was named a chair of economics and management at TU Berlin, the first woman to hold such an appointment.
