Promoting the power of women in IT

For years Juliane Siegeris has been committed to getting more women involved in IT, a field usually dominated by men.

Siegeris studied computer science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She completed her doctorate at Technische Universität Berlin and worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering. She also worked in quality management at Gematik, the German national agency for the digitalization of the healthcare system.

Since 2010 she has been an IT professor at HTW Berlin – University of Applied Sciences, where she teaches classes in software engineering. She founded a special course for women in IT and business, which she continues to lead. In 2012 she initiated the university’s PROFIT mentoring program to help female students launch their careers. Since 2020 she has been a member of the executive board of Einstein Center Digital Future.
