IntSim-Onko

The project is part of precision oncology. The aim is to treat patients according to their respective tumor disease and their individual health situation. In practice, however, medical treatment recommendations are currently based almost exclusively on genetic test results without pattern comparisons, i.e. without systematic comparison with other important individual characteristics of the disease.

The IntSim-Onko project is researching such pattern comparisons, specifically the interrelationships between diagnostic methods, pathogenic genetic changes and the use of existing study results to determine suitable therapies. Machine learning - i.e. computer-aided calculations - will be used to systematically identify suitable characteristics and patterns in order to achieve verifiable and improved medical care.
