Background

With the increasing quantity and availability of medical data, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered prognostic tools and clinical decision support systems also enjoy growing popularity. A highly promising use case is to develop, test and validate AI-based prognostic tools for the treatment stratification of stroke patients.

Goals

The development, testing, and validation of a prognostic tool for the prediction of outcome in acute stroke patients. Within the project, the QUEST Center is responsible for the development of a trustworthy AI framework.

Methods

Methods of trustworthy AI framework development, explainability, regulatory matters, software design, and the translation of AI models to the clinical setting.

Impact/Implications

VALIDATE seeks to surpass the clinical state-of-the-art by making a significant and sustainable impact on the treatment of acute stroke that will improve patient survival and outcome.
