“The Role of mTOR in Heart Failure”

About the Speaker
Christian Oeing (Clinic for Cardiology, Angiology & Intensive Care Medicine | DHZC)
Dr. Oeing is an MD graduate from Heidelberg University, and completed his MD thesis with Johannes Backs on epigenetic regulation of heart failure, but also tumor-heart interactions. He began his Internal Medicine and Cardiology residency at Heidelberg University Hospital and later finished at Charité University Medicine in Berlin. He is now also a board-certified intensive care specialist and interventional cardiologist. After his postdoctoral research fellowship with David Kass at Johns Hopkins University 2018-2020 where he focused on mTOR signaling in heart failure, he established his Emmy Noether research group in Berlin to unravel the role of mTOR in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
