European Network for data infrastructure

HiDiH is involved as a partner in the planning and implementation of GAIA-XThe aim of GAIA-X is to create a networked European data infrastructure in which developers, providers and users of digital products and services have broad and transparent access. This ecosystem will build on existing systems. The data and processes of the different areas in research, health care and industry will be linked in a standardized way. Edge and cloud computing concepts will also be implemented in HiDiH's two GAIA-X use cases.

The „Research Cloud for Genome Data“ at BIH and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ ) (see also www.de.NBI/cloud) will promote the data-based development of new treatment methods for cancer. Integrative analyses will be made possible by linking up with the resources of the health sector, e.g. with regard to additional data in a clinical context.

In the further application case "Smart Wearables", mobile data such as activity values and cardiovascular data will be integrated with existing clinical data, e.g. resulting from hospital stays of heart attack patients. By means of integrative evaluation using methods of artificial intelligence, critical situations, e.g. an imminent new heart attack, should be detected earlier than before.
