On September 19, 2022, the BIH Board of Directors invited all employees to the BIH Summer Meeting at the Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus and about 230 employees followed the invitation. The scientific program included keynotes by Prof. Simone Spuler (Charité/MDC) and Andreas Schmidt (Proteona, now part of Singleron) and was moderated by Dr. Stefanie Seltmann (BIH Press Officer). Other highlights of the program were the awarding of the "Paper of the Month" for 2021 and 2022, funded by the Stiftung Charité, and the recognition of the scientific achievements of all BIH researchers by the BIH Board of Directors, Prof. Christopher Baum (Scientific Director) and Dr. Michael Frieser (Administrative Director). For the first time, there was also a BIH Slam Award to be won - the brave slammers Ulf Tölch, Dania Hamo, Juliet Roudini and Christoph Conrad presented selected topics from the QUEST Center, the BCRT as well as the staff unit Regulatory Affairs to their colleagues and peers. Audience winner and awardee was PhD student Dania Hamo (AG Polansky), who showed in her slam on immunology and epigenetics that also immune cells are at risk of identity crisis when growing old. Congratulations!

Afterwards, all employees were invited to make new contacts at a networking event with the help of the special friends booklet "Your friends at BIH" and expanded at the indoor BBQ afterwards. We thank everyone for coming and would like to share the beautiful impressions with you here - enjoy!
