Third Call Now Open

The third application round of the Co-Innovation Programme is now open. Five start-ups from Singapore have successfully qualified to collaborate with Charité and BIH. The following start-ups are available for potential collaboration:

  • Qritive – Digital Pathology & AI: Qritive is a digital pathology and AI company developing clinically validated AI modules for cancer diagnostics, including colorectal, prostate, breast, and gastric cancer. Its solutions analyse digitised tissue sections (whole-slide images) and can be integrated into existing pathology platforms such as Roche navify. The proposed collaboration with Charité aims to investigate whether AI can derive prognostic information, such as survival probability and PD-L1 Tumour Proportion Score, from routinely stained H&E tissue sections. An existing Charité NSCLC cohort comprising 1,168 patients with paired H&E and multiplex immunofluorescence data is intended to be used for this purpose.

Expertise sought: Pathology, thoracic oncology, digital pathology/AI.

  • Moon Technologies – Ophthalmology & Oncology: Moon Technologies has developed “Glass”, a wearable ophthalmic examination device that combines several eye examinations—including visual acuity and assessments related to glaucoma, AMD, and diabetic retinopathy—within a single platform. The proposed collaboration with Charité focuses on monitoring ocular adverse effects associated with antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The aim is to jointly develop and validate a standardised point-of-care approach in which examinations are performed directly in the oncology setting and subsequently assessed by ophthalmology specialists.

Expertise sought: Oncology, ophthalmology, ADC therapies.

  • Curetis – Molecular Diagnostics & Infectious Diseases: Curetis is a molecular diagnostics company developing Unyvero, a multiplex PCR-based platform designed to identify pathogens and antibiotic resistance markers in hospitalised patients within a few hours. The proposed collaboration focuses on the further development of the Unyvero A30, a more compact, faster, and more cost-effective version of the existing A50 platform. The project is intended to advance the analyser and associated software and to complete at least five diagnostic assays.

Expertise sought: Microbiology, infectious diseases, molecular diagnostics.

  • Medicia.ai – Digital Oncology & Gynaecological Oncology: Medicia.ai is a Singapore-based digital health company developing an AI-powered platform for oncology care and cancer survivorship, jointly developed with the National University Cancer Institute. The platform provides continuous support for patients between clinical visits, capturing CTCAE-based symptoms and patient-reported outcomes, among other information, and making these data available to the care team in a structured format. Together with Charité, the aim is to develop a digitally supported care pathway for gynaecological oncology and validate it in a Charité cohort.

Expertise sought: Gynaecological oncology, supportive care, survivorship, digital health.

  • Osteopore – Bioresorbable Implants & Neurosurgery: Osteopore develops 3D-printed bioresorbable implants (including Osteoplug and Osteomesh) that serve as scaffolds for natural bone regeneration and are used in areas including cranial, orbital, and dental surgery. The proposed collaboration with Charité focuses on a patient-specific implant for cranioplasty. The aim is to generate prospective clinical data in Europe and complement existing experience from 80–100 cases in the Asia-Pacific region. There is also potential for the joint development of new products in the future.

Expertise sought: Neurosurgery, cranioplasty, clinical evaluation of implants.

Project funding is split equally – 50% covered by Enterprise Singapore and 50% by the participating start-ups. CBAIC supports you throughout the entire process, from matching to contract signing. If you are interested, please contact the project coordination team at [email protected].
