New article published about the current development status of the anonymization tool ARX

The article provides an overview of the functionalities implemented in the past years and presents recent developments which significantly improve the software.

We first present the most important design decisions made when developing the software. Next, we present a novel approach which extends the basic functionalities of ARX and greatly improves its flexibility in anonymizing medical data. The advantages of this approach are demonstrated by a detailed experimental comparison with related software. Finally, we provide an overview of practical applications of ARX and a discussion of remaining challenges. This work was done in cooperation with the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Epidemiology at the Technical University of Munich. The full article can be accessed here
