The junior professorships will be established in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The initial appointments are for three years; an extension of three more years is possible after successful evaluation.

Charité and BIH seek to fill the positions with outstanding, internationally recognized early-career scientists with an excellent track record
  • Health informatics, in particular semantic interoperability, medical ontologies and vocabularies.
  • Health informatics and genomics, in particular computable automated approaches to establish phenotypic profiles from clinical records.
  • Health informatics, in particular nanoscale diagnostics and modeling approaches.

Working field


In collaboration with other Berlin universities and research institutions, various aspects of the digital transformation will be explored. Within the Einstein Center Digital Future, new professors will strengthen the academic community of Berlin in the field of digitalization.

Requirements

Successful candidates must fulfill the requirements for appointment in accordance with § 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz, Gem. § 102a BerlHG), including an academic degree as well as a completed doctorate in medicine, natural sciences, bioinformatics, computer science, informatics, or a related discipline.

A publication record demonstrating high-impact research are expected. The successful candidate will be engaged in academic teaching activities at participating institutions of the Einstein Center for Digital Future, supervise Master and Doctoral candidates, and participate in academic self-organized research.
