QUEST Open Access Policy
Open access to articles is a key prerequisite for broad and equitable access to knowledge. Accordingly, Charité, like hundreds of other institutions, is committed to making the research results published by its researchers openly available. Charité’s commitment to promoting and further developing open access is reflected in its Open Access Policy. This policy is based, among others, on the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, and is in line with the State of Berlin’s Open Access Strategy for Berlin. The Open Access team at the Charité Medical Library supports Charité's researchers in putting this into practice through a publication fund and other services.
For the QUEST Center for Responsible Research, the mission to promote openness in research naturally also entails a commitment to act in accordance with principles of openness. QUEST has established its own guidelines in the area of Open Access that are consistent with Charité’s Open Access Policy and, beyond that, ensure that Open Access is the standard for QUEST Center publications.
