Dear colleagues,

You may have heard about Berlin Research 50 (BR50), the network of the non-university research institutions in Berlin that covers the disciplines (Units) Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, Technology and Engineering and Social Sciences and Humanities. The network aims to foster scientific collaboration between the member institutions within a discipline but as well as cross-disciplinary. Furthermore, BR50 functions as mouthpiece to the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) and into politics, society and economy to represent the needs of the non-university research institutions. The overarching goal is to work together with all relevant science policy player to strengthen Berlin as a research landscape and to develop the capital towards an science metropolis.

To work for a stronger scientific collaboration, the first step is to get to know the other institutions and their work. Therefore, the BR50 Unit Life Sciences initiated a seminar series that takes place every two to three month. To reach a high number of participants, the seminar series will take place online and will last about 30 minutes.

The seminar series will show typical examples of science that the member institutions of the BR50 Unit Life Sciences are performing and addresses researchers at all career levels.
