Professor Carsten Tschöpe, Head of the AG for Immunocardiology, has been elected and appointed in April by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) as incoming Chair of the Working Group: Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases. Back in January, his application to the DFG for funding of €350,000 for a phase II clinical trial on the effect of colchicine in myocarditis was approved. And at the beginning of May, he received a research award from the Charité 2.0 program: Here, the heart specialist is investigating disease mechanisms that occur as a result of SARS-CoV-2 infection or vaccination with an mRNA vaccine. Congratulations! For more information on the awards, please see here.
