SPHN-on-FHIR
Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) on FHIR
The Core Unit Digital Medicine and Interoperability is supporting the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) in representing the SPHN Semantic Interoperability Framework within the international syntactic standard Health Level 7 (HL7®) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®).
The SPHN-on-FHIR project combines knowledge transfer with practical implementation. In close collaboration with SPHN experts, the Core Unit Digital Medicine and Interoperability is developing an initial mapping of the SPHN data model to FHIR structures, taking existing international FHIR specifications into account. Together, we are creating FHIR artifacts (e.g., Logical Models, Profiles, Extensions, ValueSets) to represent the SPHN schema in FHIR.
By providing this additional representation of the SPHN model as an official FHIR specification, we aim to further simplify the provision and exchange of data between research and clinical care, driving personalized medicine forward more efficiently through harmonized, high-quality health data.
