BIH / MDC Course on Pluripotent Stem Cells [in Englisch]
Training on Handling and Maintenance of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells for MDC, Charité and BIH scientists. >> Please apply by November 17, 2023.
Abstract
Working with human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC), including generation, differentiation as well as establishment of disease models requires a profound knowledge and hands-on expertise.
The processes involved in these aspects of hPSC handling in tissue culture are labor intensive and distinct from that of other mammalian cell cultures. The BIH Core Unit pluripotent Stem Cells & Organoids (CUSCO) and the MDC Technology Platform pluripotent Stem Cells are jointly offering training on these methodologies.
The lectures and practical training will cover all areas of hPSC technology including techniques and practical advice for maintenance, characterization & QC, differentiation and genetic manipulation.
The lectures and lab training will be at the MDC. Lectures will be held in a hybrid format.
Who should attend this course?
The training is intended for researchers and technicians who are planning projects using hPSCs and/or will start working with hPSCs in the near future.
The hands-on part of the training is limited to eight attendees to provide a comfortable learning experience and allow for personalized interactions between the trainers and attendees. The lectures are not limited in attendees and offered in a hybrid format.
Prerequisite
Previous hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, familiarity with basic molecular and cell biology principles and methods are mandatory. The course is open to BIH, Charité and MDC investigators.
The course is free of charge!
