During the winter semester 2019/20 the BIH starts off the new lecture series "Frontiers in Translational Medicine - Scientific and Structural Challenges" on key questions of translation in medicine. The series features lunchtime discussions with leading personalities from translational research on how structures and framework conditions must be created in order to bring findings from basic research into clinical application more efficiently than before. How must a translational ecosystem - such as the BIH claims to be - be set up, and what can we learn from national and international best practices? How can the success of translation be measured in the first place and how can the science system implement appropriate criteria in order to entice researchers?
On Fridays at lunchtime, BIH invites an internationally renowned expert to give a lecture on these and other questions, followed by discussion and networking with the community.
The new lecture series will be opened by Professor Axel Radlach Pries, BIH Chairman (interim) of the Executive Board and Dean of Charité – Universitätsmedizin, on November 8, 2019 at the Hans Virchow Lecture Hall, Charité Campus Mitte and is open to everyone interested in translation and the work of the BIH.
