On 14+15 April 2016 the BIH Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) meets in Berlin, discussing scientific projects, developments and BIH's vision. For the first time, new member Alan Shuldiner, Vice-President and Co-Head of Regeneron Genetics Center is participating.

At present the Scientific Advisory Board consists of thirteen international experts in translational research. Prof. Jörg Hacker, president of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (Halle, Germany), holds the Chair. The Scientific Advisory Board is responsible for providing the Executive  and Supervisory Board with external specialized knowledge regarding future important research topics and ongoing scientific and strategic issues; it meets every six months.
