Talk@BCRT | Kerstin Ludwig
Kerstin Ludwig is a professor of immune and infection genetics at the University of Bonn. She researches the genomic architecture of the immune system, the functional influence of genetic risk variants, and the genetic factors that determine the individual immune response to infections.
Talk
Host Genetics of Viral Infections
hosted by Daniel Ibrahim
The talk explores how genetic variation shapes individual immune responses to viral infections. Using genome-wide analyses and multi-omics approaches, it investigates how rare and common genetic variants influence susceptibility and disease severity, including insights from SARS-CoV-2 research. Understanding these mechanisms can guide personalized health strategies and the development of targeted therapies.
