Telemedicine for (Digital) Clinician Scientists (Part 1/2)

Telemedicine as a sub-area of telematics in the health care system is based on the principle that medical services of patient care are provided over spatial distances and/or temporal shifts. The range of applications now includes almost all medical specialties in the fields of diagnostics, therapy, rehabilitation and decision support. Telemedicine includes information and communication technologies, which in turn require interoperability of communication partners and bring along further technical and legal challenges such as ensuring data quality and data protection. Nevertheless, telemedical applications represent an added value for patients in many areas and can complement medical action as a supporting component. In many medical fields, telemedical methods and procedures of patient care are being scientifically investigated or tested in pilot projects.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Felix Balzer, ECDF Professor for "E-Health and Shared Decision Allocation" at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, is responsible for the content of the course.

Due to the current situation, the seminar will take place online via GoToMeeting. You will receive the access data and the link for participation after registration.

Members of the (Digital) Clinician Scientist Program have the opportunity to receive credit points for their respective funding program for participation in the course.
