The QUEST Center conducts projects in various areas.

The unique feature of our projects is their practical and translational focus: we seek to test new approaches in design, analysis and reporting in biomedical research, both preclinical and clinical, to improve translation of research results into clinical care.

The projects are, among others, identified and evaluated by so-called "meta-research", i.e. research on research. The focus of our projects lies on Open Science, Stakeholder Engagement, Incentives & Indicators as well as Quality Assurance (see filter below).

Compass

  • COMPASS

With the Monitoring & Evaluation System COMPASS, BIH QUEST Center establishes a complex impact-oriented program evaluation of its activities.

    6R in Organ Model Research

Advanced in vitro models have strong potential to complement or substitute animal experiments and improve translational research. We collaborate with organ model researchers to develop and implement measures towards robust organ models and enhance their broad acceptance via 6R strategies.

    ANONY-MED

ANONY-MED creates an ethically aligned, trustworthy AI toolbox for privacy-preserving data synthesis using generative AI methods like GANs and homomorphic encryption in healthcare. This advances AI models in radiology, cardiology, and stroke therapy, while ensuring transparency and robustness.

  • Quality Assurance Ongoing

    CAEHR

Qualitative interview study as part of a collaborative project (BMBF) on reputational risks faced by healthcare providers when sharing patient data for secondary use.

    COMPASS

With the Monitoring & Evaluation System COMPASS, BIH QUEST Center establishes a complex impact-oriented program evaluation. COMPASS aims at aligning QUEST programmes and activities with the requirements of Charité researchers on the one hand and the goals of the strategy Charité2030 on the other.

    COReS

Through the COReS network we aim to integrate preclinical systematic review into the research pipeline through a three-pillar approach comprising education, infrastructure and community-building.

    DECIDE

DECIDE – Decision-Enabling Confirmation of Innovative Discoveries and exploratory Evidence - is the accompanying project to the consortium "Richtlinie zur Förderung von konfirmatorischen präklinischen Studien".

  • Quality Assurance Ongoing

    EFFECTT

Leveraging funders' unique position in the research ecosystem to drive improvements in clinical trial transparency in Germany, and beyond.

  • Quality Assurance Ongoing

    FoRR

The aim of the project is the development and evaluation of a modular course "Fundamentals of Responsible Research (FoRR)" for PhD students in medicine. In addition to the course development, evaluation and the development of a train-the-trainer concept are in the foreground.
