MPN
Data Management for DFG Research Unit 5659 TARGET-MPN
DFG Research Unit 5659 "TARGET-MPN" investigates the mechanisms of disease persistence and progression in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) – a group of chronic blood cancers. The consortium comprises ten institutions from Germany and Austria, including Hannover Medical School (MHH, spokesperson institution), the University Medical Center Freiburg, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
As part of Project Z, Charité and the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) provide the central data infrastructure for the consortium. The goal is to manage the clinical and molecular research data from all subprojects according to the FAIR principles and to make them available for cross-site collaboration. To this end, the BIH-developed platform SODAR (System for Omics Data Access and Retrieval) is used, enabling secure management of omics and clinical data with standardized metadata.
Data annotation is carried out using internationally established terminologies (including SNOMED CT, LOINC, HGNC) to ensure interoperability and reusability of the research data.
