Patient & Stakeholder Engagement (PSE) in health research means the active involvement of patients and other relevant stakeholders in the research process. This does not include the participation of patients as subjects in studies or trials, but rather that the research process is co-designed with the stakeholders. This approach is not very common in Germany yet, but it is increasingly demanded by funding agencies.

For this reason, the QUEST Center supports researchers at Charité and BIH in planning and implementing patient engagement activities in their research projects, for example by providing consultation services, trainings and funding measures.
