The project team "Patient & Stakeholder Engagement (PSE)" supports researchers from Charité and BIH to plan and implement participation activities in their research projects, e.g. through consulting, training and support measures.

Patient & Stakeholder Engagement (PSE) in health research means the active participation of patients and other relevant stakeholders in the research process. This does not mean the inclusion of subjects in studies, but rather the joint design of the research process with the stakeholders. Related concepts are Patient & Public Involvement (PPI), Citizen Science/Patient Science or Participation in Research. These approaches are not yet well established in Germany, but are increasingly demanded by funding agencies.
