Team Patient & Stakeholder Engagement (PSE)
The team "Patient & Stakeholder Engagement (PSE)" supports researchers at Charité and BIH to plan and implement patient engagement activities in their research projects, e.g. through consultation services, trainings, and funding measures.
Patient & Stakeholder Engagement (PSE) in health research means the active involvement of patients and other relevant stakeholders in the research process. This does not refer to participation of patients as subjects in studies or trials, but it is about engaging stakeholders and designing the research process together with them. Related concepts are Patient & Public Involvement (PPI), Citizen Science/Patient Science or Participatory (Health) Research. These approaches are not yet very well established in Germany, but they are going to be increasingly more demanded by funding agencies.
If you have any questions on this topic, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Sarah Weschke.
