BIH Stem Cell Lecture: Pluripotent cells: a tool to model development and to deliver definitive therapies for pediatric diseases

The thread of Ariadne that connects germ cells, preimplantation development and pluripotent stem cells is the focus of Vittorio Sebastiano´s research, with a focus on human development. His long‐term goals are: i) Understanding the biology of germ cells and their ability to sustain early preimplantation development; ii) Understanding the mechanisms that regulate very early cell fate decisions in human embryos; iii) Understanding the biology of Pluripotent Stem Cells and the mechanisms that lead to their formation.
