The mission of the BIH Core Unit pluripotent Stem Cells and Organoids (CUSCO) is to support basic and translational research by facilitating all aspects of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) and organoid technology.
CUSCO supports research excellence with state-of-the art services, tools and technologies including the derivation, genetic manipulation, characterization and quality control as well as distribution of human iPS cell lines. Additionally, the facility provides scientists with state of the art protocols and techniques for proper handling and manipulation of hPSC, hands-on training, online protocols and consultation.
The other major focus is the development, establishment and refinement of protocols for differentiation of hPSC into specific cell types in two dimensional (2D) culture conditions as well as 3D organoids.
